Overwhelming Depression!

​

This is being written even as

our nation awaits a jury

verdict in the awful case of

three children strangled by

their mother.  No doubt

there are strong feelings

on both sides of the issue. 

It is so terrifically sad that

such an incident as this

could ever occur, but it

did.  The family, friends,

medical staff, attorneys

and even some not

associated with the

controversy from around

the country, have powerful

emotional reactions.  The

real enemy here is not

depression, sickness or a

desire to hurt someone,

but the one who inspires

these emotions, the enemy

of our souls, known to us

as Satan.  He works to

destroy the souls of people,

to break apart families as

well as churches.  The old

church hymn said, “Rock of

Ages, cleft for me. Let me

hide myself in thee.”  Your

best chance to avoid the

awful destructive forces

of sin is to hide in the Lord

Jesus Christ.
